The massive development projects encompass various developmental fields in the holy city, starting with the expansion of the Grand Mosque and the holy sites, as well as in the areas of roads, transportation, housing, and other major projects. These projects are currently being implemented by major qualified institutions and national development companies, foremost among them is Al Balad Al Ameen Company, which operates with the support of the Holy City Municipality and the Royal Commission for the City of Mecca and the Holy Sites, under the supervision of His Royal Highness the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Governor of Mecca Region, and his deputy, with continuous support and directives from the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing.
